The dark-skinned women divers in black diving suits, with long hair coiling atop their heads, plunge into the ocean to fish seafood. They dunk in the sea for 4 hours every day and dive to the depth of more than 20 meters. They are the best-known icon of Jeju Island. There are some 5000 women divers in Jeju, most of whom are over 50 years old. (Xinhua/He Lulu)
